Love, live, think, laugh with my August 2020 Twitter poetry

Posted in Improvised Twitter Poetry

As you may know, if you have been following me on Twitter, I started being properly active mid-June 2020. Surprisingly, that move leads to me posting more tweets and some of them are improvised little poems. I thought it would be a shame to lose them and decided to compile them together every month so that I can read them once in a while. Welcome to my improvised August 2020 Twitter poetry.

For some reason, some people have been bringing up the crazy idea that two and two equal five, unironically. I wonder if they realised the 1984 reference there but hey, it’s 2020 and the world we live in now. And you know your boy JD, I had to drop some verses about that:

A couple of days later, I think there was some sort of discussion on Twitter on the value of a software engineering degree. I can see there are two sides in terms of experiences. We can find good software engineers with a degree and the title alongside bad ones and similarly among degree-less people. In my experience, when you find better developers, mostly in their first job, they tend to be better with a computer science degree. I can get how one could disagree or have a different experience but the amount of people personally attacking others was flabbergasting. It prompted me to quote a past poem which felt appropriate.

Now that I’m writing this, I realize that I missed the opportunity to write some verses upon reaching my hundredth consecutive day working out. That was yesterday (September 16th). I’ll try to remember when I reach 150. Funnily enough, I’m doing the same workout right now as I did when publishing the following poem.

Just an early evening reminiscing of the good times we could have before the pandemic started. Damn COVID-19. I miss going to concerts with girlfriend or friends, grabbing a drink before and after. Going around the world, to any place I like, enjoy my time on this earth. Hopefully we return to some normalcy soon.

That one started well. Not sure what I was trying there but at least the first half rhymes.

Another new week poem, as always, I meant every single verse here. Every day is a new beginning. Pain is temporary, victory is forever, all it takes is starting. You start today, then tomorrow and the days after. Eventually, you will reach your state of victory. You will be better today than you were yesterday yet lesser than tomorrow.

Unbeknownst to me, this would be my final tweet of the month. Pain seems like a recurrent theme around these days. Not sure what a shrink would say about this.

Thank you for checking my improvised August 2020 Twitter poetry. Don’t hesitate to follow me on Twitter to seize them as they are fresh off my mind. Not that It will surprise you but I don’t just write poems there. Sometimes I tweet about around tech and also life in general. There will definitely more frequent updates there than here as I can just improvise tweets which is much harder to do with blog posts. See you next time!
